What is TCM?
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a natural method of healing
that involves techniques such as acupressure or massage,
cupping, scraping, exercises, and of course, Acupuncture and
Chinese Herbal Medicine.
The basic foundation for Chinese medicine is that there is
a life energy flowing through the body which is termed Qi
(pronounced "chee"). The Qi consists of all essential life
activities which include the spiritual, emotional, mental
and the physical aspects of life. A person's health is
influenced by the flow of Qi in the body, in combination
with the universal forces of Yin and Yang. This energy flows
all over the body through channels known as meridians that
connect all of our major organs. According to Chinese
medical theory, illness arises when the cyclical flow of Qi
in the meridians becomes unbalanced or is blocked.
TCM
has been in use for over 5,000 years, and is being used by
billions of people today. TCM offers people a holistic
system of medicine to diagnose and treat the root cause of
health problem.
